7th Annual Antique Tractor Pull & Show

7th Annual Rice Belt Antique Tractor Pull & Show

SATURDAY, JUNE 18TH
Lining the field at the American Legion grounds come see all the antique tractors and engines this Father’s Day Weekend! Fill up the stands as the tractors hook up, opening up the throttles and stirring up dust! Fun for the whole family, it’s really thrilling, trust me your gonna love the all the pullin’ and showing off!. We may be a little crazy and have farmer tans, but once you get here, you’ll understand!

Beginning Saturday, June 18th  at 10 am, antique tractors in four separate divisions will be pulling a custom-resistance sled, designed by Chappell Antique Tractors. A $15 hook fee per pull benefits the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #72 van fund.  To classify as “antique” the tractor must be a 1965 or earlier.

El Campo Elks Lodge No.1749 will be hosting a 15-minute Flag Day ceremony at 11:30 a.m., followed by the parade of tractors and the Matagorda County Calvary motorcycle veteran’s tribute at noon.

Show judging begins at 1:00 p.m., featuring antique static engine and equipment displays, such as combines, cotton pickers, etc., as well as early farm day demonstrations, all on pre-1965 machinery and equipment. Some equipment has been fully restored and some left “as is.”

We have a little bit of everything – The Good – The Bad – and The Ugly!

Pulling divisions are based on the the condition of the tractor.

Division 1 is farm stock, no modifications are allowed

Division 2 allows the addition of suite-case weights to increase the tractor’s weight

Division 3 allows the addition of weights as well as the increase of RPMs by carburetor alterations or “souping it up”.

Division 4 also allows both of the previous modifications as well as any other changes that may increase the performance of the tractor.

All tractors are weighed and classified before the pull. To add weights, the tractor must be weighed again and reclassified for its new division. Tractor classifications begin at 3100 lbs. all the way to 12,600, plus. This is not a sanctioned pull, but the competition is fierce.
