The stages of the manufacturing process

Tough Country takes pride in the extreme craftsmanship that goes into each and every product that it produces. Although we are a large manufacturer and supply products throughout the United States and Canada, we still use a very hands-on “custom shop” approach to our manufacturing process. We do this so that we have the ability to offer the widest variety of products and options that we can to all of our customers. Although we try to stock some of the most popular items, many products will be built after the order is received. The delivery date, which is very important to all of our customers, tends to be approximately 2 to 3 weeks. It is, however worth the wait to most people to get a quality American made product exactly the way they want it.

Break down of the manufacturing process:

  1. Production of all component parts. In this stage every component of the bumper is cut, sawed, and bent. This includes: pipe, diamond plate, heavy plate, and expanded metal. Note: many of the components are cut in advance and stored in our parts inventory for more popular models.
  2. Cleanup of all component parts
  3. Assembly of main frame component parts
  4. Weld out of main frame unit
  5. Cleanup of main frame unit
  6. Fitment of plating and options
  7. First quality control check
  8. Final weld out
  9. Final grinding and production cleanup
  10. Final quality control check before move to coating facility
